The botanical name for sage is Salvia officinalis, which comes from combining the Latin ‘salvere’ meaning to be healthy and heal, along with ‘officinalis’ - a broad term denoting organisms, usually plants. Sage itself has been shown to have a high concentration of naturally occurring antioxidants which contribute to the natural defences of the body.

It is considered that the thujones in sage contribute to sage’s beneficial effects, however, a large quantity of thujones should not be consumed. This supplement has been carefully formulated to ensure an effective and appropriate level of sage extract in every capsule.
